January 2012 Meeting

16 January 2012. The regular Hill Country Smocking Guild meeting was called to order.

Several members were absent. Deanna and Elissa were attending “Sewing at the Beach” but joined us via speaker phone.

Treasurer handed out copies of financial report. With no corrections – this report is filed for audit.

Old Business: Name tags will be our program for February
No report from committee working on the updating of our By-laws

Workshop: Beginning / refresher smocking workshop planned for Saturday February 18th. Email was sent out with workshop specifics and what to bring. See the Blog for information. Email Kim to reserve your spot.

New Business: Correction to guild dues posted on the Blog – Yearly dues for the Hill Country Smocking Guild are $10 (starting each January)

Show and Share:
Dot – brought a cute boy’s romper (made for Carter) made of brown micro-cord with cut hobby horses. She also brought a black micro-cord dress with Christmas embroidery and the reverse was red with Scotties! Two looks in one cute dress.

Kim – displayed 2 lingerie bags (also our program for the month): 1 was white with pink smocking, and the other green with green and cream smocking

This month’s door prize winner – KIM!

Program – a smocking refresher. The simple stitches were beautiful on lingerie bags, with a smocked ribbon casing. We all left excited and ready for the February workshop.

See you Saturday February 18th at the work shop, and then on Monday February 20th for our Regular meeting.
