Show
& Share:
Toni showed one fall
table runner and a round fall table cover ready for quilting. Done in greens, cream and gold they are sure
to be a sensation for her holiday table.
Deanna showed her
beautifully smocked dress “Eternal Love” from Australian Smocking magazine
issue #42 done in white imperial batiste and smocked with white floche.
Kim displayed a baby
gown made from Mildred Gould’s Baby Day gowns by Nancy Coburn. The smocking plate was included in the book.
Elissa dug into her
magic bag and pulled out several beautifully done pieces. #1 was a Blue and white checked bishop from
Creative Needle and PBIK. #2 was a blue
and white floral monogrammed in Mamie design by CC. The angel sleeved bishop was smocked in
periwinkle. #3 was a 1928 boy’s button
on suit worn by former mayor of Corpus Christie.
Dot produced a very
clever casserole cover made in a turquoise/stripe fabric. She didn’t have a pattern but reproduced one
she had seen at a show. Dot is branching
out into quilting with a lovely First Baby quilt done in pastel shades of pink
and green.
Melissa managed to get
the bishop dresses she smocked off the triplets for us to see. Done in pink, blue and yellow they were they
were a delight to the eye and a joy to feel.
Daughter, Eloise, was off to school in an appliqued dinosaur t-shirt
with “Eloise” written under the dinosaur. Melissa also displayed a monogrammed
market bag done in a delightful laminated cotton print.
Sharon shared laces
donated to the smocking guild by Donna Olson.
The laces were a collection of Donna’s mother.
